How MOVEHA works

Search the school that you will attend, the zip code, or city. All the available housing options in the area will be shown on the map.

Choose the rooms/houses that you are interested, and contact ID-verified landlords by built-in messaging or schedule online video chat.

If you and the landlord somehow exchange each other’s private contact info and make the deal off-line, Moveha will not be responsible for any potential risk or possible scam.

If you reach agreement with the landlord, you can click “rent now” to submit application, fill in planned move-in date, other tenants’ info, etc.

International students do not have credit history, so the landlord will request your passport, I-20 (for F-1 visa holders), bank statement or other document, in order to verify future tenants’ identity and financial capability to afford the rent.

Landlord will review your application and make decision.

If landlord accepts your application, he/she will complete and sign the leasing contract electronically; you will receive the link to complete the contract through e-mail.

If landlord rejects your application, we will recommend other similar housing options.

The link will direct you to the web page to complete and sign the contract electronically.

You can pay application fee and/or holding deposit by credit card or PayPal.

Moveha Umbrella: Moveha will hold deposit until you successfully move in; after that, the deposit will be released to the landlord.

After the payment being processed successfully, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing your new home address, planned move-in date, landlord’s information, etc. Moveha will also send the pdf version of leasing contract to you and your landlord.

Please contact landlord and discuss move-in details beforehand, and let your landlord know your arrival time (some landlords will be able to pick you up at airport). Please double check with your landlord and make sure you can meet him/her upon arrival and move in your new home.

After you sign the official leasing contract and settle down, Moveha will release the application fee and holding deposit to your landlord.

The availability of your planned move-in date depends on current residents’ decision of continuing leasing terms or not.

The rent shown on Moveha is for reference only, and the specific rent price will fluctuate based on the elements such as floorplan, leasing term, market price, planned move-in date, etc.

Moveha will help you contact leasing office, and let you know the availability, monthly rent, application fee, holding deposit, deposit, etc. via e-mail.

If you are satisfied with an apartment, you can click the link in the notification e-mail and make reservation.

Pay application fee and/or holding deposit by credit card or PayPal.

Holding deposit is paid in order to keep the apartment you like; it’s usually lower than deposit, between $300 to $500. Holding deposit will be transferred into regular deposit.

Application fee, holding deposit and deposit are requested by apartment leasing office, not by Moveha. Moveha will help you pay all the fees to the apartment.

Moveha will let you know if you make reservation successfully via e-mail.

If the leasing office accepts your application: you will receive confirmation e-mail with detail information of the apartment. When you arrive the US, reach your apartment and find leasing office, you can show them your confirmation letter. Then you can sign the official leasing contract with the apartment.

In the e-mail of tenant(s) move-in application, there will be a link directing you to the digital leasing contract page, where you can customize your info and sign electronically. The contract will be generated automatically in pdf format on Moveha

Moveha Umbrella

Moveha will collect holding deposit from tenant after the tenant has filled and signed the leasing agreement and distribute to landlord after receiving landlord’s filled and signed lease agreement.

If tenant failed to fulfill the contract and did not move in for personal reason, Moveha will compensate the landlord in cash.
